Project: University of Rochester - Messinger Hall Cooling Tower Replacement
Location: Rochester, New York
Equipment Description: Through a rigorous selection process, the University of Rochester chose Guntner as their preferred manufacturer for an adiabatic fluid cooler to replace an existing evaporative cooling tower. The new adiabatic fluid cooler was installed and connected to Messinger Hall’s existing water source heat pump, water loop.
Unit Specifications:
Performance: 135 GPM @ 100°F EWT, 90°F LWT
Guntner Motor Management (GMM) controls for fan speed control, cleaning function, snow/freeze protection, night limit for noise concerns
Guntner Hydro Management (GHM) water meter controller, including modulating flow control valve, flow meter, and strainer
Streamers on top of fan to direct air up, in a tighter stream
Fin and pad guard screens to protect pads from large particulate such as cottonwood and leaves
Flanged connections, ANSI 150#
Ball valves for vent and drain of the process cooling fluid
Repair switches to allow for fan replacement while the other fans continue to run
BACnet MSTP protocol
Low noise ECM condenser fans
NEMA 4 Controls Enclosure
Non-Fused NEMA 4X Disconnect Switch
PE stamped wind calculations and connection details for spring vibration isolators connections to steel dunnage.
